Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct thorough wound assessments using established protocols and tools
- Develop and implement evidence-based wound care treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs
- Perform wound care procedures, including but not limited to wound debridement, dressing changes, and wound irrigation, adhering to sterile techniques and best practices
- Monitor wound healing progress and evaluate the effectiveness of treatment interventions
- Document wound assessments, treatment interventions, and patient responses accurately and timely in electronic health records
- Collaborate with physicians, wound care specialists, and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care and optimize treatment outcomes
- Provide education to patients, families, and caregivers on wound care techniques, preventive measures, and signs of complications
- Participate in interdisciplinary rounds, case conferences, and quality improvement initiatives related to wound care
- Stay current with advances in wound care management, attending relevant conferences, workshops, and continuing education programs
- Maintain a safe and therapeutic environment for patients undergoing wound care procedures, adhering to infection control protocols and safety standards
- Valid Registered Nurse (RN) license in the state of practice.
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
- Certification in wound care preferred but not required
- Minimum of 1 years in skilled nursing experience, with significant experience in wound care preferred
- Proficiency in wound assessment techniques, wound care procedures, and sterile techniques
- Strong critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with diverse healthcare team members
- Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous quality improvement
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced healthcare environment
